StudioM – All About Miss Lisa

Lisa Morreale, or "Miss Lisa" as she is known to her students, is the owner, artistic director, and sole teacher of StudioM Dance Company. Lisa started dancing at the age of five and has never stopped. She graduated from North Central College with a degree in Commercial Art and a Minor in Education. Lisa’s professional training includes dancing under Joyce Lang of Naperville and Lou Conte with the Hubbard Street Dance Company. She was fortunate to be picked to dance with the Performing Arts Gallery U.S.A., which toured in Europe.

Lisa began teaching dance in 1984 through several park district programs in Western Chicago. In 1986 she began teaching at Pulse in Naperville and continued to teach there through 1993. In the fall of 1993 she began the Northern Illinois Academy of Performing Arts, which became the Energym Dance Company in 1999. Lisa also became the Head Coach of the N.I.U. Silverette Dance Team in 1993.

In June of 2005, Lisa fulfilled one of her lifelong dreams when she and her husband Sam founded StudioM Dance Company. Miss Lisa is ecstatic to be sharing her passion for dance with all her students and their families. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys choreographing fashion shows and benefits, including the Miss Kishwaukee Scholarship Program. She has also been a guest speaker on the values of dance to young girls at the Miss Illinois Youth Summit. Every now and then you may find Miss Lisa still performing around the Chicago-land area.

Lisa is married to Coach Sam from NIU/Energym and they have three children: Brandon, a recent graduate of Carthage College; Bailey, a freshman at Western Illinois University; and Brienne, a sophomore at Sycamore High School.
